In the 2023-2024 school year, there are 8 college/university Greenleaves's (GL) scholarship recipients:

1) Đặng Quốc Huy: received the GL's scholarship since 9th grade. His father is a high school security guard, his mother is a factory worker. The family income is about 9,800,000 VND/month (USD 408). Huy is currently a 3rd year student, majoring in Information Technology at the University of Industry and Trade. His tuition is approximately 32.5 million VND/year (USD 1,334).
2) Võ Hữu Tín: received the GL's scholarship since 7th grade. His parents are divorced. His mother has been raising the 2 children alone. However, she recently lost her ability to work regularly. He is currently a 1st year student, majoring in Pharmacy at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. His tuition is about 55 million VND/year (USD 2,292).
3) Trần Quốc Hào: received the GL's scholarship since 6th grade. His parents are divorced, and his mother has a new family. He lives with grandparents; his grandfather worked at a gas station. He is currently a 1st year student, majoring in Information Technology at the Eastern International University (EIU). His tuition is about 20 million VND/year (USD 835), not including English training tuition of 28 million VND/4 years (USD 1,167).
4) Võ Thị Hương Duyên: received the GL's scholarship since 7th grade. She came from a poor family with no father, and her mother lost her ability to work. Currently, she is a 1st year student, majoring in Commercial Marketing at the College of Foreign Economic Relations. Her tuition is about 15 million VND/year (USD 625).
5) Nguyễn Thanh Hiệu: received the GL's scholarship since 7th grade. His family’s situation is quite difficult. His father is the main worker but has an unstable income, raising 3 children. Currently, he is a 1st year student, majoring in Software Information Technology at Saigon University.  His tuition is about 16.5 million VND/year (USD 688).

6) Phạm Minh Phượng: received the GL's scholarship since 8th grade. Her father is a freelance worker, her mother is a high school health worker. The family’s income is about 10 million VND/month. She is currently a 2nd year student, majoring in Business Administration at the University of Technology. Her tuition is about 50 million VND/year (USD 2,083).
7) Vũ Hồng Trà My: received the GL's scholarship since 7th grade. Her father passed away early and her mother worked as a housekeeper. She is currently a 1st year student, majoring in Food Business Administration at the University of Industry and Trade. Her tuition is about 30 million VND/year (USD 1,250).
8) Trần Hiếu Long:  He has just been considered for the scholarship during the 2023-2024 school year, His parents are divorced, and his mother is raising 2 children alone.  His mother's income as a seamstress is about 6 million VND/month. He is currently a 2nd year student, majoring in Automotive at the Engineering Polytechnic University. His tuition is about 30 million VND/year (USD 1,250).

Most of the students have been sponsored by benefactors under the Greenleaves's scholarship program for several years while they were still in high school. They came from poor families with desperate situations. Throughout the years, with the help of the benefactors, these students have overcome many obstacles and hardship to finally attend college. Outside of school, they work part-time in stores, restaurants, etc. to cover additional expenses besides tuition. These expenses are insurance, room rental, meals, transportation, course materials, and other enhanced study programs etc.

Currently, our scholarship program supports students with USD230/year, helping them cover some of the expenses. Because of the high college cost, students can also apply for additional GL500+ scholarships. These scholarships carry the sponsor's name, such as "D Breuer Scholarship", "A&J Minton Scholarship", "T Nguyễn Scholarship" etc. The GL500+ scholarship amount is at least USD500/year for a minimum period of 3 years and the funding amount can be adjusted each year depending on the sponsor. However, the issue is that the current number of GL500+ scholarships is not enough to cover the number of college students and high school students preparing for the University entrance exam. We are asking for your help for these desperate students so that they can achieve their dream of “escaping poverty through education”.
